বিশ শতকের মাঝামাঝি সময় থেকেই, বিশেষ করে গত দু-তিন দশকে আমাদের জীবনযাত্রার ধরন যেমন বদলেছে, তার সঙ্গে তাল রেখে চেহারা বদলেছে পৃথিবীর অন্ধকার জগতেরও। সেই নিরিখে স্বভাবতই পিছিয়ে নেই আমাদের দেশও। চলতি থ্রিলার উপন্যাসে এই অন্ধকার জগতকে তুলে ধরা যে অসম্ভব, মোটামুটি বিশ শতকের শেষ পর্ব ঘনিয়ে আসার কালপর্ব থেকেই টের পাওয়া যাচ্ছিল। স্বভাবতই ধরন বদলাচ্ছিল এরকম লেখালেখিরও। কিন্তু তখনো আমাদের দেশে এ রকম লেখাপত্রের দেখা প্রায় মিলত না। বদলে, দেখা যেত প্রাইভেট ডিটেকটিভদেরই রমরমা, যা এখনও বাংলা রহস্য সাহিত্যের মূল কেন্দ্রবিন্দু। এ ধরনের উপন্যাস-গল্পে অপরাধের চেহারা প্রধানত ঘোরাফেরা করত মধ্যবিত্ত ঘেরাটোপে দেশের মধ্যেই। গত এক-দেড় দশকে যদিও সেই চেহারাটা খানিকটা বদলাচ্ছে, কিন্তু সমাজের ওপরতলায় অপরাধের চেহারা যতটা বদলেছে তার সঙ্গে বাংলা সাহিত্য সমানভাবে তাল রাখতে পারেনি। তাই এধরনের উপন্যাস-গল্পে কপোল কল্পনার ছাপ প্রকট। কখনো কখনো গল্পের গরুকে গাছে তোলার চেষ্টায় লেখার মান যে হানি হয়নি, তা-ও নয়।

অনিরুদ্ধ বসুর লেখালেখি ও ভাবনাচিন্তার মূল বৈশিষ্ট্য এই বদলে যাওয়া সময়েরই ভেতরের চেহারাটা। তিনি কলম ধরেন তাঁর পেশার মতো, সময়কে কাঠগড়ায় দাঁড় করিয়ে কাটাছেঁড়া করাতে। এই বদলে যাওয়া সময়ের ভেতরের টালমাটাল চেহারাটা পাঠকের সামনে তুলে ধরতে। সাহিত্য তাঁর কাছে নিছক অবসর বিনোদন নয়। বদলে যাওয়া একবিংশ শতাব্দীর চিন্তাধারা ও প্রকাশে পাঠককে বর্তমানের মুখোমুখি দাঁড় করাতে, আধুনিক ভাষাশৈলী, চিন্তাধারার ভাণ্ডার নিয়ে। 

অন্যান্য লেখাপত্রের পাশাপাশি থ্রিলারধর্মী লেখাতেও পাঠককে স্রেফ রোমাঞ্চ উপহার দিয়েই কর্তব্য সমাধান মনে করেন না। বরং চান বাস্তবের পরিপ্রেক্ষিতে আজকের রুঢ় বাস্তবকে তুলে ধরতে। তাই তার প্রথম উপন্যাস ‘চক্র' তে কল্পনার ডিটেকটিভকে পেছনে ফেলে একবিংশ শতাব্দীর বাস্তবতার কথা মাথায় রেখে, প্রচলিত দেশি ও বিদেশি প্রথার বেড়া ভেঙেছেন। চিরাচরিত কল্পনার ডিটেকটিভকে বাদ দিয়ে এ যুগের বাস্তবধর্মী নতুন চিন্তাধারার বিন্যাস। পাঠক খুনির সঙ্গে ডিটেকটিভকেও খুঁজছে। এই বিকল্প চিন্তাধার প্রকাশ ‘কনড্রাম' ‘প্রহেলিকা' ‘ইটারন্যাল মেহেম’ ‘ইফ…', মার্ডার@করোনা.টাইম’ প্রভৃতি উপন্যাসে।

অনুসরণ লেখার পটভূমি আজকের ভারত শুধু নয়,  গোটা বিশ্ব। এ-লেখায় এক... দুই...তিন... চার… করে একের পর খুন। শুধু ভারতে নয়, তার গণ্ডি ছাড়িয়ে বিশ্বের বিভিন্ন দেশে। আপাত কারণহীন খুনেগুলোর জট খুলতে কেবল পুলিসই নয়, র সহ বিভিন্ন দেশের সরকারি অনুসন্ধানী সংস্থা জড়িয়ে পড়েছে উপন্যাসের আন্তর্জাতিক ষড়যন্ত্রে। সঙ্গে মানুষের সীমাহীন লোভ। সেই লোভের জালে জড়িয়ে পাক খেয়েছে বিভিন্ন দেশের মানুষ। শেষে সমস্ত সুতোর জটই যে খুলেছে তাই নয়, উন্মোচিত হয়েছে কাল নির্বিশেষে মানবিক অনুসন্ধানের পরিপ্রেক্ষিতও। 

পাঠকের জন্যে লেখক থ্রিলারের আবহে তুলে এনেছেন মানব জীবনের চিরায়ত প্রশ্ন, যার উত্তরে নিহিত মনুষ্যজীবনের অনুসন্ধানের ইতিবৃত্ত। যে সত্য পার্থিব হিসেবের বাইরে। 

আন্তর্জাতিক পটভূমিতে ধীরে ধীরে জমে ওঠা এই থ্রিলারের বঙ্গানুবাদ একুশ শতকের বাংলা রোমাঞ্চ সাহিত্যে অন্য মাত্রা যোগ করবে। এ লেখার বিন্যাসে সেই আবহমানতার ইঙ্গিত যা ব্যতীত সাহিত্যকীর্তির সাময়িকতার সীমানা পেরোনো অসম্ভব।

Sobre l'autor

An eminent Plastic Surgeon by profession, a writer by choice, Aniruddha Bose was born on 19th September 1955 in Kolkata. He developed an interest in literature since childhood from his late father Binayendra Mohan Bose, an ex-graduate from Bengal Engineering College and late mother Ila Bose, silver medal winner in Bengali from the Calcutta University. He is a by-product of St. Xavier’s Collegiate School, Kolkata, later Medical College, Bengal and Royal College of Surgeons, United Kingdom. He spent substantial segment of his life there. Also, a couple of years in the Middle East. A renowned Consultant in Kolkata, he is recognised as one of the leading cosmetic surgeons both nationally and internationally.

From his school and college days he was into writing. Editor of the school magazine Nihil Ultra, his literary zeal was evident from early days. He contributed in several leading magazines during that period and later in United Kingdom and the Middle East.

Life is a voyage exposing its colours in varied veneers. In the year 2006 he sustained a fracture of tibia which confined him to a wheelchair for six months. Continuing his hectic practice even in wheelchair, his social life came to a halt. He was isolated from his other lively activities. To make the best of his solitary confinement, he resorted to his forlorn hobby. He plumbed the bygone literary pursuits he cherished in youth, fortified by his literature-loving engineer father and literary mother until the coercions of his career pushed it to the archive. During this period, he penned his debut Bengali novel ANWESHAN released on 25th August 2007. The novel was an instant success. It hosted his original creative self-expression in a diverse arena. The sales figures of his debut novel soared high. It stimulated his incognito ingenuity urging him to further indulge in the passion, parallel to his busy professional pursuits. His second Bengali novel NISHABDE like the previous one, not only turned out to be a best-seller representing Bengal at the London Book Fair, but also received eclectic acclaim. From then onwards there was no turning back. Destiny had set ajar a new vista of artistic creativity amidst the levied calamity. He split his time between a busy profession and literary quests. He has written several books in Bengali and English. He continues creating more in both the lingoes. It reflects his wide experience as a professional. Widely travelled, he has interacted with various cultures, races and community.

He is a member of Film Writer’s Association.

He finds solace in his creations, be it in his professional arena or creative literary pursuits. All his novels are depiction of his inner creative ideas sometimes contrary to tradition in search for the Universal Truth.

In his busy schedule, his essence of peace rests with his love for Rabindrasangeet, classical music and his wife Smriti Bose.
