Susan Barnes is a native Floridian who, as a college student, became a Walt Disney World Preview Center Hostess in January of 1970. She and four other hostesses trained the original 200 Tour Guides and then became their supervisors after the Magic Kingdom opened on October 1st, 1971.
Upon leaving WDW in 1974, she spent 10 years as a vocalist with the band, Mothers Choice, which led to the release of 2 albums. One album with Mothers Choice and one for the soundtrack of the made for TV Christmas movie, The Magic of Christmas. She is married to Sam, the lead singer of Mothers Choice and together they have 3 daughters, all singers; Stephanie, Rock and Roll, Samantha, Opera and Sara, Musical Theatre. I guess you could say that music is their family business.
April Bensch grew up in Tampa Florida where she developed a deep appreciation for the visual and performing arts, but she has been happy to call the South Carolina Coast her home for the past 20 years. There she has become an award winning illustrator and artist, set designer, mother of 3 beautiful young ladies, and been inspired to create what she hopes will bring joy to young people for generations to come. April enjoys gardening, singing in her church choir, and swimming up and down the beach. She does not speak French, water ski, or iron.
