ARCHANGEL’S PROPHECY is the eleventh instalment in Nalini Singh’s adult GUILD HUNTER dystopian/ paranormal/ urban fantasy series focusing on Archangel’s, angels, vampires, shifters and hunters. ARCHANGEL’S PROPHECY is the continuing story of New York’s Archangel Raphael, and his consort, human turned angel Elena Deveraux. ARCHANGEL’S PROPHECY should not be read as a stand alone as the story line continues the series arc focusing on the Cascade, and the growing evil surrounding two of Cadre. Told from several third person perspectives including Raphael and Elena ARCHANGEL’S PROPHECY follows Elena as she tasks herself with uncovering the truth behind a series of attacks and dismemberment against vampires and humans including the near fatal attack against her sister’s mate. As Elena begins to dig deeper into everyone connected with Harrison’s past, strange phenomena and environmental disasters begin to wreak havoc in Raphael’s New York territory, phenomena that directly affects our story line heroine. Slowly reverting back to her mortal self, Elena sees apparitions and warnings of impending danger and doom, doom that the Archangel Raphael is powerless to prevent or defeat. ARCHANGEL’S PROPHECY is a love story wherein one of the most powerful beings is unable to prevent the fall-out of power, death, rebirth and the prophecy. Struggling to stay one step ahead of the approaching destruction of his heart and his soul Raphael learns that the ultimate sacrifice is only the beginning of a new awakening and his chance for a future. Nalini Singh’s ARCHANGEL’S PROPHECY is a captivating story of unimaginable conflict; of pain and loss, of heartache and grief. As our couple battle that which they cannot see, others must battle that which remains to be seen. ARCHANGEL’S PROPHECY is a raw, real and powerful story; a startling and staggering look at devotion, love, sacrifice and the helplessness in the inability to stop the inevitable fall.

***5 ‘Fear Will Not Ruin Us’ Stars*** Really? REALLY? That’s where things end off?!?!? *Takes a deep breath and lets it out* Ok, so, this book took me on one hell of a ride. I mean between the synopsis and the first lines of some of the reviews already posted simply from scrolling through GR, (I refused to read any in full and kept scrolling) I knew it would be intense, but I wasn’t fully prepared for it all. I laughed (super-parasites), I got all kinds of swoony and twitterpated but I also got all growly and even had the whole sniffly, rapid eye blinking pretending I had dust in my eyes thing going on. This hit all my buttons and with that ending? Yeah, I need the next book in the series like...yesterday. Now, I’m a fangirl of the author and the series, so you can imagine how excited I get when the next book in the series is announced. I don’t care if it’s a book focused on Raphael or Elena or on another couple, I simply adore the world of the Guild Hunter and all the crazy that goes on in it and Archangel’s Prophecy solidified its place in my bookishAF heart. I loved seeing how Raphael and Elena’s relationship has evolved and how strong they are together, even when it broke my heart to see the toll the prophecy was taking on them. But even more than that, I loved seeing how the relationships between all of the characters I’ve come to know, love and in some cases, tolerate have evolved. Getting to spend time with the Seven, the Guild Hunters, Tower staff and Elena’s family, as well as the Cadre, was a lot of fun and is something always I look forward to whenever I pick up a GH book and this one is chock full of moments. There were a few things that surprised me and a couple of not new, but not well known characters until now, that have peaked my interest and I’m crossing my toes we will see more of them in the future, but overall I got everything I had been jonesing for when it came to this unique cast of characters...at least for now. I know that this is all vague and verbal vomitty and I haven’t gone in depth at all when it comes to the plot, but that is on purpose. You the reader need to go into as blind as possible, though I think I’ve set you on a semi-knowing path path with just my feelings on it. What I will say is that I thoroughly enjoyed how the author wove all the elements together into an intriguing story. She has a way with words that draws me in and leaves me wanting more and in this case she definitely had me turning those pages to see what would happen next, as well as who would pop up and grace me with their presence next. Note: If you haven’t started this series then this is NOT the place to start, pick up Angel’s Blood and get ready for a wild ride. And if you’re into audio, then I highly recommend the audiobooks, the narrator, Justine Eyre does an amazing job at bringing the characters and world to life! ~ Copy provided by the publisher via NetGalley & voluntarily reviewed ~

Whatever you think you know about the Guild Hunter series and whatever expectations you have, throw all those things out the window because all bets are off in Nalini Singh’s ARCHANGEL’S PROPHECY! I absolutely could not put this book down! The story’s exciting and fast-paced with plot twists and turns that will give you whiplash! No words ever written are good enough to express the magnitude of what I’m feeling for this book. The characters are flawlessly and brilliantly crafted, the storyline is deeply complex and engaging and the fierce love between Raphael and his Elena is without equal! There are so many wonderful, exasperating and unbelievable surprises in this book that I can’t really say anymore without giving things away. But what I can share is that the story takes place a few years after the events of ARCHANGEL’S VIPER. If you are not yet in love with Nalini Singh, you will be after this book! I experienced so many emotions while reading the book. I laughed, I cussed up a storm, I cried, I cheered, I cussed some more and shed a lot more tears! I will say though, most of my cussing was because the story ends in a cliffhanger. I hope you don't see this as a spoiler but as a heads up. As a reader, I know I'd rather be forewarned than blindsided. However, this ending doesn't take away from how magical, wonderful and exciting the story is. Hands down, ARCHANGEL’S PROPHECY is the BEST book I’ve read this year. And while this book is part of a series, it can be read as a standalone. I’d definitely recommend checking out the rest of the series too because it’s amazing! No one writes romance like Nalini Singh!
