Carl Lee was born in the United Kingdom in 1975. With his parents in the Royal Air Force he grew up in many different places, from Germany to Yorkshire and has since lived in many more, from Spain to Blackpool. He currently resides in Blackpool, where he writes mainly because it is too cold and wet to go outside. "I wanted to be an author since I can remember. I wrote my first story when I was five. It was rubbish, but hopefully I've improved since then." He wrote his first full-length novel in the late 1990's but failed to get it published. After many rewrites over subsequent years, he shelved the project indefinitely and returned to writing in 2008 with 'Trouser's Edge'. Following the relative independent success of that, he decided to follow it up with the sequel, 'Once Upon A Hell'. "It is immensely difficult to find agents and mainstream publishers, more so now than maybe ever before. Competing with other entertainment media, such as DVD's and computer gaming, literary entertainment seems to have almost taken a back seat. Being independently published however, doesn't diminish the pride you feel when you first see your work in print, and although you have to do a lot of the legwork yourself, e.g.; promotion and sales, it only heightens the sense of achievement when things go well." With many other projects on the drawing board, he hopes to continue to write and have his audience grow with every book.
