Each year, photographers from around the world are invited to enter the prestigious Australian Geographic ANZANG Nature Photographer of the Year competition. (ANZANG refers to the AustraliaâNew ZealandâAntarcticaâNew Guinea bioregion.) In 2013, David Rennie won it. His achievement was made all the more remarkable by the fact that his love affair with photography only began in 2007 at the age of 47. David Rennie is a late-blooming, self-taught photographer based in Western Australia. He jokes that when he started out he thought ISO was a measurement for radioactive materials and shutter speed an indication of how fast venetian blinds closed! Today he is an award-winning nature photographer and a passionate advocate for conserving our wilderness areas. As David says, âIt would be gut-wrenching if our childrenâs children could only see what we can now through books like this and not out in nature.â  Â
