About the author
Arthur Schnitzler, geboren am 15. Mai 1862 in Wien, gestorben am 21. Oktober 1931 in Wien, war ein österreichischer Arzt, Dramatiker und Erzähler. Er gilt als einer der bedeutendsten Vertreter der Wiener Moderne und verfasste zahlreiche Theaterstücke, Erzählungen, Novellen und zwei Romane. Mit seiner Novelle 'Leutnant Gusto' führte er den inneren Monolog ein in die deutschsprachige Literatur.
