Über dieses E-Book

A full colour guide to British radiator and accessory mascots of 1896 to 1960 compiled by two leading experts in the field. Packed with information and stunning pictures, this comprehensive guide is a must for collectors and would-be collectors.

As well as detailing the authors' collecting experiences, the book tells the reader how to get started, where to buy and - very importantly - how to spot fakes. 54 British marque mascots are covered, as are mascots produced by corporations such as ICI and the accessory mascots which owners could purchase to individualise their cars

Autoren-Profil

 David Kay

Although an engineer by background, David Kay spent 25 years in the pharmaceutical industry before becoming an independent consultant. With a lifelong interest in old cars it was only natural for David to become interested in car mascots, an interest which developed into a fascination in the early 1980s. He now has an extensive collection of British marque mascots which he hopes will be displayed in an appropriate museum one day. David and his wife, Heather, live in the north west of England and have two adult daughters.

Lynda Springate

Motoring mascots and bdges have always been a keen intrerest for Lynda, who joined the staff of Britain's National Motor Museum in 1984. She became Head Librarian of the Museum in 1988 and Picture Library Manager in 1992.

Since leaving the Museum in 1995 Lynda has contributed to various journals, CD-ROMs and the Encyclopaedia of the Horse (Greenwich). Lynda has also written the following books - Collins Gem Classic Cars, A Pictorial History of Jaguar (Crowood) and A Nostalgic Look at Riley Cars (Silver Link). Lynda lives in the south of England, near Winchester, with her husband, Frank, and son, Stephen.
