Barbara is a skillful storyteller and thrives on weaving a mystery that will keep you captivated and engrossed. This psychological thriller plays mind games with you with all the twists and turns. I didn’t trust anyone and was second guessing everyone. Just as I thought something had been answered, I was left with more questions. While I had a hunch about one person that turned out to be correct; I can say I that I was clueless about all the rest of it. I do wish that we had gotten another chapter or epilogue with a future glimpse of Emily and Ethan. Overall, it’s an excellent story that I recommend to readers who love a good thriller. The Other Emily by Barbara Freethy is a standalone psychological thriller and oh my what a read! This deserves more than 5 stars! This story has it all…taking Emily and Ethan on a rollercoaster ride with twists, turns, danger, suspense, secrets, lies, revenge, edge of your seat read and so much more. I voluntarily read an advanced reader copy (ARC) of this book from the author. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

You're not paranoid if they really are out to get you. I thought of this quote as I read this book. Emily's world is crashing around her & who can she trust? I enjoyed the buildup of suspense in this book. There were a lot of suspects & a lot of layers to this story. I didn't know who she could believe or trust. I like the author's writing style. It's easy to read & the scenes are painted very clearly in my head. I found the ending to be satisfying. I received an advance copy from the author.
