Der Demokratische Frauenbund, die ehemalige DDR-Massenorganisation für Frauen, konnte nach der Wiedervereinigung in den neuen Bundesländern überleben und ist nach wie vor in der ostdeutschen Verbändelandschaft fest etabliert. In dieser Arbeit werden der Prozess des Übergangs des einstigen DDR-Verbandes in die Bundesrepublik, die Gründe seines Fortbestehens und seine Organisation und Leistung insgesamt dargestellt.
