TIME FOR SECOND CHANCES The story is a sweet second chance romance between a couple who had been married for three short months before a family tragedy had her leaving college and returning home. As the prognosis for her mother isn’t the best, she decides it is only fair to end the marriage and allow David to get on with his life. When he signs the papers, it seems as if she made the right choice. Her entire life is now spent working for her Uncle at the ad agency and taking care of her mother, who is now wheelchair-bound from the accident that killed her father. Caroline Foster is shocked when Uncle Thomas informs her that he needs her to handle the Western Trails ad campaign and expects her to get the account for the company. But the big clincher is that she must get the gear and go on a weeklong hike with one of the Western Trail owners, pitching her ideas to bring in the business. Caroline is a city girl! David Tomlinson loves hiking and the great outdoors. Still, he isn’t too happy with his partner, Alan, and the idea for the top five companies to accompany him on a strenuous weeklong hike while trying to prove to him why their company deserves the ad campaign. The story’s plot will have David meeting the five ad agency representatives for a weeklong hike, only discovering one was a female—but not any female, his ex-wife, Caroline. While David and Caroline don’t let on as if they know each other, there is a touch of animosity that she would be there. Better yet, when David looks her over, sees her clothes are new, her nails are fake, and a hairstyle that won’t last the day, he counts on her ending it right away. But, she is a fighter, without being pushy, and holds up which surprises David. With six of them, and only three two-person tents, David will have him sharing with Caroline—not that she is happy about it. The story is a journey of discovery, perseverance, and determination. I think all the men on this weeklong hike are impressed with Caroline and how well she has held up, doing her share of the work and not falling behind. Like Peter, she isn’t pushy, and she doesn’t expect any favors or easier assignments. Not only that, she doesn’t feel as if David owns her company the bid based on their past. The story is full of memories, heartache, painful decisions, and regrets, but it is always ten years of water under the bridge. The story does have several harrowing moments, injures, and even a life-and-death situation that brings the final four working together to prevent a crisis. When it is time to say goodbye at the end of the week, will a confession of feelings be accepted or rejected? Will these two let the past pain carry them into the future, or will one week help them realize that they have never gotten over each other? “A surprise for both of you—or maybe, fate’s way of giving you another chance together.” I loved the story; it is emotional, with a great cast of characters and tough choices in life. Caroline did what she thought was only fair, but did she even give David a chance to decide what he was willing to do? With another chance, will these two find the happiness they both deserve?

She was hoping to get the account, now they were saying to send a person from each of the five companies wanting the contract. To prove they knew about the equipment and camping. She hasn’t a clue, the company needed the account. If not cut backs and she would be one of the first. A mother confined and reminding her she needed her daughter. She turned down a future she wanted before. At thirty a second chance to have it and move on. To be loved and have a life and family.
