The book includes a brief analysis of the original 1970s and 80s series but concentrates primarily on the episodes, characters, and issues from the entirely reimagined current series (including its fourth and final season, scheduled for airing in early 2008) as well as the two-hour TV movie and direct-to-DVD release Razor.

Josef Steiff is the associate chair of the Department of Film & Video at Columbia College in Chicago. He is the author of The Complete Idiot's Guide to Independent Filmmaking (2005).

Tristan Tamplin has his PhD in philosophy from University of Illinois at Chicago. He is now the principal designer at Verso Design Corporation.
