Born and raised in Charleston, South Carolina, the author is forty-five years old. L.Y. Reed, which is the writer's pseudonym, was educated at the University of Texas and the College of Charleston. Work background includes personal communications and many years in hospitality. L.Y. Reed wrote these works as two separate books, but family and friends urged their union. A sequel has already been constructed as well as two other manuscripts. The author prides himself as a true writer since he uses pencil and paper to construct his ideas and impressions for the reader, who deserves to savor a good story. Reed would like to pay homage to his typist and reader, Laura Nunn, who gave hours of time to his cause.
