Lucy Coats went to university in Edinburgh and graduated with a degree in English and Ancient History. Lucy's first job was as an editor for a children's book publisher, and it wasn't long before she started writing herself. Lucy lives in Northamptonshire.

Sarah's very first picture book, Five Little Fiends (978-0-7475-5949-8) was awarded the Bronze Smarties prize. Sarah has written and/or illustrated a number of books, including The Girl With the Bird's-Nest Hair (978-0-7475-7140-7) and Monster Day at Work (Frances Lincoln).
