Belle Pohl
A truly lovely tale to explain to young ladies of the time that being betrothed to someone you have never met, though frightening at first, could become a happy marriage in the end. Illustrations are beautiful and really add to the whole of the story.

This is not the original Gabrielle-Suzanne de Villeneuva version but the extremely shortened, watered down version of Jeanne-Marie de Beaumont. It's ok but I prefer the original novel sized story with all the backgrounds and many characters. The illustrations are spectacular though! Absolutely superb.

I like the ilustration and the easy pace of the narrative. A good lecture for children a adults too.
