Wow. I have to say that I could not abide Sunny through the beginning of this book. She had a chip on her shoulder so big it was a wonder she could stand up. I eventually came to like her. I was also glad to see Austin would not allow her to try and intimidate him. This book was a quick, well-written tale about a man who wore several hats falling in love with a woman and helping her discover the hat she truly wanted to wear. I voluntarily read and reviewed this book.

I have only read a handful of books by this talented author, all of them either about security or military men. So I was curious about this one since it focuses on cowboys. As expected, Ms. McGraw gives us a thoughtful , well developed plot and characters that are imperfect and real . The main characters, Sunny and Austin might not have been my favorite, but the storyline about a woman trying to make it in a man’s world as a firefighter, while dealing with her own insecurities , was one that is happening every day in our society. Austin was a good opposite for Sunny, since he helps her see her own weakness and strengths , while helping her become a better person, mother and leader. All in all , an entertaining story. I was gifted this copy. The opinions expressed are solely my own.
