The premise of this book is that the effects of the special theory of relativity are a kinematical perspective rather than being real; but "reality" is a slippery concept, and it is expected that the reader will keep that in mind. Towards clarifying that concept insofar as it applies herein, a working definition will unfold the reader progresses through the book. The test of reality to be applied is whether it is really impossible to make a round trip to Alpha Centauri in a reasonable time.
