About the author

Michael S. Sweeney is a professor in the E.W. Scripps School of Journalism at Ohio University and author of nine books for National Geograhic. Sweeney lives in Athens, Ohio. Additional authors include Dogtown managers John Garcia and Michelle Besmehn, and several other trainers from Best Friends Animal Society. The trainers regularly appear on the DogTown television show and several of them have appeared on national media, such as Ellen, to promote the show and the society.
