About this ebook

In a sensual, angsty novel from USA Today bestseling author Beth Yarnall, a hotheaded P.I. unleashes one lawyer’s deepest passions—and greatest temptations.

Nolan: Nothing’s ever come easy for me, especially not my dream job at Nash Security and Investigations. Righting wrongs is what I’m meant to do . . . except I manage to blow the very first chance I get. So why don’t they fire me on the spot? Hell, I’d fire myself if I could. Instead, my boss hands me an assignment that’s too important to screw up—and partners me with Lila Garcia, a gorgeous attorney with curves so distracting they should be illegal.

Lila: Like my client, a grieving mother charged with the murder of her own son, I know how quickly the American dream can become a nightmare. If anybody can help me clear her name, it’s Nash Security and Investigations. But Nolan Perry is a wild card. Bending the truth, breaking the law—that’s his business. I need to focus on the evidence. Not on how Nolan’s body fits so perfectly against mine. With a case this personal—and this dangerous—losing control is simply not an option . . . no matter how badly I want to give in.

Nolan Perry never seems to have things go smoothly in his life. He's now working for Nash Security and Investigation as a PI, and actually liking it. The newest pro-bono case from Fredom Project has been assigned to Nolan and he will be working with Lila Garcia, the lawyer also assigned to the case. Together the two of them are trying to get Carla Ruiz freed from prison. They feel that she was wrongly charged for the murder of her son. Working together, side by side, Nolan and Lila have a strong attraction toward each other. I just loved their unexplained chemistry. I really enjoyed how in the beginning it seemed like Nolan was the one with some secrets, but it really ends up that Lila has the bigger secrets. This story line was really enjoyable with all the information they were uncovering and it really kept me engrossed in the story. By the end, you just couldn't help feeling hopeful for Nolan and Lila. Overall, this was a really fun and sexy story, with very likable characters.

This is the third book in the Recovered Innocence series but it is easily read standalone. I LOVED the first two books in this series and while I did enjoy this one it fell short of my expectations. Nolan and Lila were both interesting and unique characters. Nolan is an investigator working for Nash Security and will he suffers a bit from low self-esteem, he's dedicated and determined and he gives the case his all. Lila is a lawyer who brings a case to Nash asking for their help in proving her client innocent and getting her conviction overturned. Lila has a few issues of her own she should be focusing on but staying away from Nolan and the draw he has on her doesn't seem to be something she can do. As they work to put the pieces of the case together their relationship blooms. When the evidence they've uncovered turns deadly that relationship will be tested! Will they survive? Will their relationship? An enjoyable read I would recommend.
