Praise for Between You and Me:

‘What a page turner! Compelling, chilling and an incredibly impressive’ Alexandra Brown

‘It’s certainly one of the best debuts I have read in a while, it’s compelling and shocking, and very cleverly crafted’ The Book Review Café

‘Hall packs a punch with this one and the ending left me gasping’ For the Love of Books

‘It is disturbing and chilling. It feels very real. And a quick mention for that twist! I did not see that coming AT ALL. I usually spot these things and I didn’t! Clever! Very clever!’ Northern Crime Reviews

‘A gripping psychological thriller with a level of tension that will leave you breathless’ Tracy Book Lover

‘Between You And Me is that kind of book. The one that makesyou feel like you’re there, you’re experiencing the emotions, the hurt, the pain’ Bibliophile Book Club

‘Lisa Hall has wrote a harrowing, disturbing and chilling novel which I couldn't help but devour in a matter of days. She's one of those authors you don't see coming and BANG best seller, up there with the greatest crime writers like Stuart McBride and Lee Child. She's one to watch’ Brunette Lifestyle

‘It is well written, emotional and jaw dropping. More please!!’ Jo Robertson (NetGalley)

‘A compelling but shocking read and there are serious issues in it which should provoke a lot of discussion for book groups’ Laurel (Goodreads)

The book was great but the ending was horrible. It was way too confusing and I get that that was how it was supposed to be with the role reversals but come on you should have just kept it as Sal being the woman and Charlie being the man because it ruined the momentum it was just not okay. I honestly thought it was an editing error and when I realized it wasn't I was thoroughly disappointed. I get that the author was trying to make it some crazy twist but it didn't work it may have worked for some people but not for me. I've actually so confused was it to women because Sal was called Sally or was Sally the husband I am just so confused still totally ruined it for me if someone could possibly clarify that would be great.

I loved the storyline in this book. It helped me understand domestic violence from another perspective. It's a shame that the last few chapters were written wrong in terms of who was speaking and what their story was. That's the only disappointment I have. Otherwise, the storyline was interesting and informative.

Great read but from chapter 38 onwards, there is a writing error where both characters change genders. And Charlie refers to himself as Charlotte? Why does the main English male character have an Italian surname when the female lead is the Italian? Can't help but think that these few chapters were from an old draft. It's frustrating to read in that context.

About the author

LISA HALL loves words, reading and everything there is to love about books. She dreamed of being a writer since she was a little girl and after years of talking about it, was finally brave enough to put pen to paper (and let people actually read it). Lisa lives in a small village in Kent, surrounded by her towering TBR pile, a rather large brood of children, dogs, chickens and ponies and her long-suffering husband. She is also rather partial to eating cheese and drinking wine. Readers can follow Lisa on Twitter @LisaHallAuthor
