Published by the U.S. House of Representatives' Office of History and Preservation and the U.S. Senate Historical Office, this 16th edition of theBiographical Directory of the United States Congress, 1774 - 2005 contains authoritative biographies of the approximately 12,000 Members, Delegates, Resident Commissioners, and Vice Presidents who have served in the Continental Congress, U.S. House of Representatives, and U.S. Senate from 1774-2004.

Many of the biographies also incorporate current bibliographic resources. Last updated in 1989, this new edition also contains completely new introductory material.
