Ava Gold is a widow of a NYPD Detective in the 1920’s. After he is murdered she works her way into the department & becomes one of the first women detectives. She is hoping to eventually find her husband’s murderer. In “City of Fear” she & her partner, Frank, are trying to find the killer of a millionaire’s 16 year old daughter. The parents are not very happy a woman is involved in the investigation & do not cooperate very much in the investigation. This is another Blake Pierce book that was hard to put down. Can’t wait for the next one. Enjoyed this one very, very much!
