Ryan has everything anyone could ever ask from life – money, love and a supportive family. Therefore, it comes as a shock to everyone when he decides to leave everything behind to join the army. A decision he takes in pursuit of a life full of exciting experiences and adventures. Thousands of miles away the Island nation of Sri Lanka is burning in the flames of a brutal civil war. At the peak of this conflict and in the face of a growing death toll, the Indian Government decides to intervene and sends its forces to the embattled town of Jaffna. It is here that Ryan receives his chance to live the life he always wanted. Serving as a Captain in the forward position he forges a strong bond of friendship with Major Vijay, a seasoned veteran and Lieutenant Amit, a young officer. Trapped in the besieged city of Jaffna, fighting the deadliest terrorist organisation in the world, he along with his friends must confront the filthy realities of war, which will redefine all his perceptions about love, family, faith, beliefs and himself.

Manak Malik was born in the capital city of New Delhi. He completed his school education in Delhi. He began writing during his graduation and this was when his first novel was born. He actively took part in many literary initiatives in his college and nurtured his passion for writing by being a part of the editorial team of his college magazine. He also writes short articles and has been published by online forums such as Faking News. After graduation, he worked as a software developer with a major IT company. He is currently pursuing a management degree from one of the premier B-Schools in India.
