Tack Grayson is a Cyborg in self isolation on Sajave. He and his dog Bandit live in the middle of nowhere, which is just the way he likes it! He has taken a leave of absence from C-Force, a peace keeping force, when he was forced to kill someone close to him. When his peace is disrupted by a crashed vehicle in the middle of a violent sand storm, he is forced to rescue and take care of the female in the vehicle. He is not happy about the inconvenience! Breeze O’Day is an astrogeologist on the planet Sajave. She has changed her name and looks and is hiding from her very violent ex-husband. She thinks she is safe there and has been happily working with her boss, Martin and Geo-Tech. She is on a routine trip to another settlement to continue her research when her vehicle goes totally off course and crashes in the middle of a violent sand storm. Since she fell asleep during the journey, she doesn’t understand how she got so far off course. Breeze is banged up pretty bad and doesn’t know where she is when she wakes up. She is surprised when she finds out that she was rescued by an unfriendly cyborg. At least his dog is nice! But as they are forced to stay together as the storm rages for days, Tack is beginning to think maybe her “crash” wasn’t as accidental as she thinks it is. As Breeze learns to trust Tack, not an easy thing for her, she is starting to think they may have a future together. But when Breeze’s past catches up with her with a little help from her boss, they will need that trust if they are to survive the storm that is headed their way! Looks to be a great series! Great Sexy Cyborg Series Opener... I really enjoyed this new cyborg series opener. It follows Tack, a grumpy loner cyborg, living alone in the middle of the desert, trying to beat the demons of his past. Breeze O'day is an astrogeologist researching the sand on this desert planet when she mysteriously crashes out in the middle of nowhere, where only Tack can rescue her. With a monsterous sand storm keeping them trapped together in Tack's little house, they have to confront their pasts and their growing attraction to each other. Breeze and Tack both are a little bit older characters and they both have traumatic events in their recent pasts. Breeze is in hiding from her very violent abusive ex-husband. While Tack is recovering from his last mission, which had dire personal consequences. Neither are good at interacting with others. After a bumpy beginning Breeze and Tack peel back each others layers a little to see the real person underneath. This was sweet and sexy. Both are nursing some fragile hearts that are trying to heal. As Breeze and Tack start to act on their attraction and building a good foundation of trust, they get rocked by someone nefarious trying to kill one and frame the other. Only if they can see through the betrayal of others will they be able to make it through alive. Wonderful, entertaining story with good action, and sweet heat. I'm looking forward to the next installment with Axel that will continue the overarching storyline. Even though this is an ARC review, I will always shoot you straight. Blown Away is the first book in this Cyborg series and sets the stage to what the reader can expect. Great plot, fantastic characters, clever dog and Sajave seems like a very interesting planet. Loved it!
