Politically unimaginative, boringly predictable, and pained unrealistic dialogue define this closing chapter of a trilogy that I felt started out strong with a unique and charming voice in Revenger. As a big fan of Reynolds' works, I'm left confused and a bit dumbfounded by the lack of depth from both the characters and the plot. It was a fun read that, for me, sustained itself on the hook of the first book, but I don't think it stands up to the quality and character of his previous series.
