Abstract: A descriptive overview on the role of various forms of print materials in schools attempts to identify the way teachers use 5 print forms (textbooks, workbooks, paperbacks, and commercial newspapers and magazines) in their classrooms. This overview also serves as a casebook for prospective teachers; hypothetical cases studies are provided for each of the the 5 print forms covered, to illustrate the ways a particular print form can be used effectively in the classroom.
