In this continuing adventure of Orin and Sahira, I must change what I would normally call "their adventure", to their miserable journey through the Barren Lands. Miserable is more to the point! Through determination and a lot of strength, Orin, Sahira and their small group of unique immortal friends, and I use the term "friends" loosely, try to escape this cursed realm with some of the most horrendous obstacles they encounter along the way. Not even sure they are headed in the right direction at times, or even if they will make it out of the Barren Lands. All they want to do is escape back to their loved ones. And perhaps some will find an unbelievable love along the way, or perhaps they will find they aren't even meant to be friends. A must read for sure!

Brenda has done it again. I was captivated throughout this book. So so good. Sahira, Orin, Elsa and Zeth journey through the dessert in search of a way out of the cursed realm. They get a lot more than they bargained for. Sahira is furious with Orin for tagging along but never one to be missing out he is there and lucky for them. Orin has grown on me with these books and I actually feel sorry for him in parts of the story. Absolutely brilliant

Another wonderful book in this series! The suspense of what the groups next challenge is, including the push and pull of Orin and Sahira's relationship, had me reading the entire book in one day! I'm so ready for the next book after reading the little bit about what they encountered at the end. I'm looking forward to seeing the relationship between Orin and Sahira continue to grow. I'm also rooting for them to find a way home and onto their next grand adventure!
