I had high expectations of this novel and I'm delighted to report that not only were they met but exceeded! Another stunning read from one of my favourite authors who always delivers an exciting and fast-paced read! DI Kay Hunter is once again the senior officer when a body is discovered on her patch. With her team, she sets about unravelling what has happened and, ultimately, who is responsible. I adore this series; Kay Hunter has to be one of my favourite characters. This author conveys the anger and frustration of the whole investigating team as the strive to come up with answers, and whilst personal lives are touched upon the main focus of the novel is always the current case. There are some lighter - and darker - moments entwined within the story, and I loved the reference to the first novel. That really made me smile! With this seventh book, this series is as fresh as ever; Kay and her team use everything at their disposal to solve their cases and I find the up-to-date methods absolutely fascinating. It's amazing how crime solving has changed in recent years, and Rachel Amphlett makes great use of every available tool. My thanks to the author for my copy of her novel. I chose to read this book, and this review is my honest, original and unbiased opinion.
