Kait Nolan has done it again. Another Misfit Inn book. Another of the sisters and her story. Maggie has been in California but becomes so stressed and overworked that she has put herself in danger. So Porter goes out to bring her back home to recover. They have been friends for over ten years but, since Maggie doesn’t get home often, they don’t see each other much. Now they have time to talk about their past and the problems that caused Maggie to run away from the family and make a life in California. Porter has built a construction company that may be threatened when a deal for a resort falls through. Porter decides to enjoy the time with Maggie because he knows she will return to California in a few months. As they work through issues, secrets are revealed. Then Maggie gets to help a young girl who reminds her of herself all those years ago. In the meantime, the rest of the sisters have children, become pregnant and plan a wedding. All while Porter and Maggie are trying to revitalize the old mill for the artisans and craftsmen in the area. Lots of twists and turns as they fight the past, deal with the present and plan for the future. A page turner for sure. Bring it on home Kati’s books suck you in and make you invested in her characters’ world. I couldn’t wait for this next installment in the misfit inn series, and this one didn’t disappoint. Maggie and Porter’s story is full of hidden secrets reviled and unexpected plot twists. It was nice to see the rest of the family and what was going on in their lives. Really hard to pick a favorite book from this series I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

I have come to love the stories by this talented author and this latest addition to the Misfit Inn series, proves my point. Maggie Reynolds left home after a teenage pregnancy. She not only became a lawyer but is a very successful one in L.A. But when she faints in the middle of a meeting due to total burnout, her boss not only forces her to an extended vacation, but she also contacts Porter Ingram. The boy, now man, who has loved her for over twelve years. He drops everything to pick her up and bring her back home. The story is full of revelations : why Maggie really left, Porter’s life , and so much more. We come to understand Maggie, not as the take charge woman, but as the one who has many emotional scars . Porter is the one that is always there to give her a hand and support her. Even when gossip is still rampant in town, he stands by her. But she never revealed the boy that got her pregnant . Why is that? Does she not trust Porter? It’s a story that is at times heart wrenching and in which all you want to do is hug the main characters. It’s a story about long lasting unconditional love, trust, hope , family and second chances. In the end, will Porter and Maggie find their HEA or will the past once again keep them apart? I was entrusted a copy of this book. The opinions expressed are solely my own.
