About the author

BRUCE R. HOPKINS (Kansas City MO) is the country's legal leading authority on tax-exempt organizations. He is widely respected and highly visible as both a lecturer and author (more than 35 books published with Wiley).

THOMAS A. MCLAUGHLIN (Boston MA) formed McLaughlin & Associates after nearly two decades as a nonprofit consulting specialist with two national accounting and consulting firms. Tom has over 35 years of nonprofit experience as a nonprofit manager, trade association executive, and management consultant. Tom is a contributing editor for the Nonprofit Times, for which he writes a monthly column.

LAURENCE SCOT (New York NY) is the co-founder and co-managing partner of Skody Scot & Company, a CPA firm that specializes in servicing the not-for-profit community.
