This is story of Bryce a professional tennis player who has an career ending injury and feels the pressure from his sports dynasty family to get better and back in the game. While he feels like he can't take it anymore and depression looming he by chance meets Tammi a retail sports store worker with a history with tennis. The chance meeting would be gold to others but Tammi feels the opposite. It takes her a while to warm up to Bryce, although the attraction is immediate, because she doesn't trust easy and wants to earn her spot in life not have it handed to her. This is a great story I love the build up but I only gave it 4 stories because the ending seemed a bit rushed. However I feel it will be redeemed it the next book in the series. This felt a lot like it was a long introductory to the other characters' books to follow. Great job. I look forward to reading more.

The first book in The Players Series. Another winner for Nana Malone. This book reminds me of why she became one of my favorite writers. The first book of hers that I ever read was "Game, Set, Match", another book about tennis. After reading that, I was hooked. In this book, you get the sports, romance, and sexiness. You also get the love and commitment Bryce and Tami have for each other and their sport. I look forward to the next book in this series. I would definitely recommend this book. I voluntarily read and reviewed this Advanced Reader Copy.

Tami is making it, just barely. Her dreams ended with the death of her mother. She'd taken care of her mother and ended training for a possible tennis future. Bryce is recovering from an injury on the court. His future is a question. Will he ever recover enough to compete again? It isn't your normal meeting over coffee for them. Rescuing Bryce from a robbery takes the last connection to her dream away. Her racket made a pretty good weapon. Wealthy guy that he is, replacing the racket, is nothing to him. But she is proud and has good reason not to want anything from a wealthy man. She insists on doing it on her own. Bryce wants to do more than replace her racket. He wants Tami. The battle is a tough one, families, pride, history, all war against love. What will win? Is there a future for them? A good sports romance from Nana Malone who never disappoints.
