Stories like this one keep me on the edge of my seat and it's hard for me to even stop reading until I finish the book! Nicki has a broken engagement so she goes to Cedar Key to try to start fresh but her life is suddenly threatened and she can't understand why. There is no clue as to why somebody wants her killed. Someone is trying to take away everything and everyone that means anything to her....but why? Her mother was murdered when she was young and she was raised in foster care, separated from her sister, who she's always wondered what happened to, but she had a teenage friend named Tyler and she's stunned to see him one day come to her rescue when her house is vandalized. So begins a traumatizing experience for Nicki that lasts for awhile and she can't figure out who wants to hurt her this badly. This person even tries to hurt her dog! Tyler stays with her all the way and help her figure things out, especially since he is staying next door with his brother. The action is non-stop and I loved the characters. I couldn't imagine going through everything Nicki went through. I would highly recommend this book! I has a surprise ending too!
