An exciting and intriguing story filled with a ton of twists and surprises. I really enjoyed the story and the characters in this one. This is a great romance between Firefighter Ryan and real estate developer Chloe. A romance that probably isn't a good idea considering Ryan is hoping to become an arson investigator and Chloe is a suspect in several suspicious fires around town. Being close to her may help him solve the case though. Keeping his heart out of it may be his biggest problem. Definitely a book I would recommend.

Well I never expected THAT! First of all, you will NEVER guess who was causing the explosions. I was so surprised! Nextly, this was a great read! Chloe was a little down on herself and lacking self-esteem, which is understandable given the horrendous past she had to endure. But, she tried her best to be strong and carry on. Enter Ryan, someone with an equally tragic past, depending on your viewpoint, and his loyalty to Chloe, in spite of the allegations of arson looming over her, was very endearing. The only only ONLY only only thing I had a bit of an issue with is that if Ryan is essentially helping with the arson investigation in which Chloe is a person of interest, it seems incredibly unrealistic that he would openly date her AND bring her to firehouse social functions AND have a boss that essentially turned a blind eye to their relationship instead of citing Ryan for some sort of ethics violation. But, aside from that, I liked the suspense and the story, and I would love to read a story about a certain casual couple I met in this book! (I received a copy of this book in consideration of an honest review)

I loved this book! Chloe drew me in right from the beginning. She's definitely damaged by her tragic past and guards those secrets closely...but so is Ryan, the sexy fireman she meets when she least expects it. Ryan has demons of his own that he's hiding from Chloe, even as he wants her to trust him completely. Complicating Chloe and Ryan's relationship is the fact that she's a person of interest in a series of exploding fires in buildings owned by her employer (and former boyfriend). As suspicious swirl around her, Ryan's acceptance into a master's level fire investigator program are jeopardized. However, Ryan refuses to back away from her. Chloe is flawed and weak, but continues to reach for her inner strength as she faces horrific obstacles. Ryan hasn't trusted a woman in years because of what his former fiance did. As a result, there was quite a bit of push/pull in her relationship with Ryan. While it is a bit much, it makes complete sense within the story. Romantic suspense fans will love this book and I'm looking forward to reading more by this author.
