Crime, drugs, guns – in Philadelphia, the poorest of the nation's big cities, it all starts in kindergarten and moves up through senior year in public high school – poor proficiency in English and math, poor graduation rates, lack of good jobs for the many kids in the so called “impoverished, underprivileged, poor” neighborhoods. How do we turn this around in a world of constant conflict? In this short story, a neighborhood kid named Joe Robinson perhaps has some answers.
