Really excited about this new series from CJ Box. Love the Joe Pickett books, so at 1st I was a little impatient with this book and looked at it as something to read until the next one comes out. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. I like the Cassie character and the story was interesting and really drew me in. So now there are 2 series I'll have to anxiously "wait for the next one" in. CJ Box better start writing twice as fast!

It's about a woman cop named Cassie and she's up in North Dakota trying to catch a very bad outfit that cuts people up and spreads their body parts all over town it's got everything in it drugs murder Mayhem and corrupt cops.

Nice read ... I totally did not anticipate the twist at the end... good job !

About the author

C. J. Box is the author of over twenty Joe Pickett novels, as well as several stand-alone novels and a story collection. He has won the Edgar, Anthony, Macavity, Gumshoe, and Barry Awards, as well as the French Prix Calibre .38, and has been a Los Angeles Times Book Prize finalist. A Wyoming native, Box has also worked on a ranch and as a small-town newspaper reporter and editor. He lives with his wife on their ranch in Wyoming.
