About this ebook

The stunning conclusion of worldwide phenomenon—from the boldly original author of Captive Prince and Prince’s Gambit.

“I fell in love with the writing, the characters, [and] the story.”—V.E. Schwab, #1 New York Times bestselling author

His identity now revealed, Damen must face his master Prince Laurent as Damianos of Akielos, the man Laurent has sworn to kill.

On the brink of a momentous battle, the future of both their countries hangs in the balance. In the south, Kastor's forces are massing. In the north, the Regent's armies are mobilising for war. Damen's only hope of reclaiming his throne is to fight together with Laurent against their usurpers.

Forced into an uneasy alliance the two princes journey deep into Akielos, where they face their most dangerous opposition yet. But even if the fragile trust they have built survives the revelation of Damen’s identity—can it stand against the Regents final, deadly play for the throne?

I loved this series. Its a well paced trilogy with a perfect blend of politics, action, plotting, sex and romance. I was a bit worried when I started the first book about the concept of slaves (and minors) and it being a seedy and graphic book for the sake of it, but I found that everything had its purpose and was very well executed and as tactful as could be regarding the topic. What happened was shocking, but not for the sake of it. The writing is amazing, I could picture everything vividly in my head. The plot doesn't meander, and has a very good action/reaction of events throughout. The characters are varied and interesting and don't lose sight of their goals. And my god, the slow burn between the mains was fantastic and really enjoyable. I don't think I have anything else to say about it, and can't think of anything bad. I only wish it was a little longer to see what happens after the end! I will be reading more from this author!

I've read this series through more than five times now and it never gets old. It's brilliant and funny and romantic and suspenseful and thrilling and engaging and all the things. Two very minor inconsistencies in the span of a convoluted twisting, turning, 1000 thread count plot ain't bad: SPOILERS (Jokaste having blonde hair, then dark hair, then blonde hair again, Damens cuff being on the left wrist, and then the right wrist).

This series is everything, it had me upset the whole way through it. i hated it, I was furious and I loved it. the moments when the plot turned to favor the protagonist where so very few, the plot twists twined up into themselves, and turned into new ones. the feeling in these books is so real, I love the characters SO much. the ending was frustrating, and long, and I hated it and it was the best ending this series could have. I love getting angry when I read, it means I really care about it.
