Kai was not expecting to become heartsworn to a human but with an ancient enemy gathering Kai becomes the one thing he needs and the reader can’t help but be drawn into this fascinating world as Kai and Rhys struggle to come to an understanding. The chemistry between Rhys and Kai is certainly pulling them together but the relationship is so far out of Kai’s comfort zone that it just might take a miracle for this couple to work out their differences with a lot of emotional turmoil to overcome as well with both of their motivations being completely understandable. The fast paced and smooth flowing plot keeps anticipation building with lots of suspense, action and romance while these strong compelling characters demand reader’s attention. Expectation builds spine tingling tension as Kai fights her circumstances while Rhy’s ancient enemy sets out to take over the dragons and destroy humanity which means that Rhys needs all the strength he get. Lots of excitement to be found with battles taking place in the sky and heated clashes taken place in a cave as everyone awaits Kai’s decision and the well written scenes and details capture the imagination bringing the story to life while the intriguing events guarantees that there is never a dull moment while unexpected twists keeps readers guessing The author has created a fascinating dragon world with intriguing characters and interesting and unique elements that ensure that the readers are going to come back for more. I was enthralled with the story from the very beginning, of course I wasn’t all that happy with the cliffhanger ending even if it did take place at a good time in the story…now I am very anxious to read the next one.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book! Character development and interaction was top notch. So fast paced and enthralling I quite literally couldn't put it down. So much for sleep .. but it was well worth it! I am excited to read the rest of the trilogy and whatever else Mrs McFaeland has to offer the world of great lit!
