This book is well written and a great book to get a Linux desktop user up to speed and able to effectively unleash the power of the bash shell to accomplish more. I assume this should go without saying but if you are new to Linux and must buy a book, you should first start with one of the books for whichever distribution you chose to use and work up to this book once you have a handle on installing, running Linux to accomplish basic tasks.
