Em dezembro de 2001, o arquiteto Argus Caruso Saturnino saiu de Cordisburgo, Minas Gerais, para uma viagem de volta ao mundo de bicicleta que se estendeu até março de 2005. Seguindo na direção oeste, ele passou por 28 países e refez as rotas dos Incas, da Companhia das Índias Orientais e da Seda. Esta nova edição, além de fotos e histórias sobre o contato com diversos povos e culturas, apresenta um novo texto em que o autor conta como transcorreram os dez anos após o seu retorno, discutindo mobilidade, novos projetos e aprendizados. In December 2001, the architect Argus Caruso Saturnino left the city of Cordisburgo, in the state of Minas Gerais, to travel around the world using a bicycle. The trip ended March 2005. Going west, he visited 28 countries and retraced the routes of the Incas, the East India Company and Silk. This new edition, in addition to photos and stories about the contact with different people and cultures, presents a new article where the author tells everything about the ten years after his return, discussing urban mobility, new projects and learning. Argus Caruso Saturnino nasceu em Belo Horizonte, em 1974. Formou-se em arquitetura pela UFMG em 2000 e trabalhou em escritórios no Brasil, na Espanha e na Bélgica. Antes da viagem de volta ao mundo de bicicleta, rodou pela Europa e África com a mochila nas costas, e atravessou o Atlântico velejando, refazendo a rota de Pedro Álvares Cabral, na regata Brasil 500 anos. Depois da viagem, seguiu trabalhando com arquitetura e construção. Realizou diversas palestras e exposições fotográficas. Fez o curso Educação Gaia em 2009, mestrado em design pela PUC-Rio, entre 2012 e 2013, e coordenou o programa Niterói de Bicicleta entre 2013 e 2014. Atualmente trabalha na criação de uma bicicleta anfíbia. Argus Caruso Saturnino born in Belo Horizonte in 1974. He graduated in architecture at Minas Gerais Federal University in 2000 and worked at offices in Brazil, Spain and Belgium. Before the trip around the world using a bike, he backpacked through Europe and Africa and sailed across the Atlantic ocean, recreating the route of Pedro Alvares Cabral at Brazil 500 Years boat race. After the trip, he continued working with architecture and construction. Caruso hosted several lectures and photo exhibitions. He made the Gaia Education course in 2009, master's degree in design at PUC-Rio, between 2012 and 2013, and led the Niterói Bicycle program between 2013 and 2014. He is currently working on creating an amphibious bicycle.
