You can’t fight the magick! Ryan Travis has decided that he will sacrifice everything to become the alpha of his pack, and that means he must remain single. Ryan is at the alpha summit at the VonBrandt ranch, and he has an interview for a K. Quade as ranch manager, who is Kate Quade. Kate is running away from her grandfather who has arranged for her to marry the man of his choosing, whether she likes it or not. That’s the way things are with the Quade pack; women don’t matter. The minute Kate sees Ryan, she knows he’s her Fated mate, but he won’t do anything about it because of his becoming alpha in three days; it pains him, but that’s the way it has to be. Ms. Rhys and Shannan expend on their worldbuilding in RODEO WOLF, as they show us that there definitely are many ways of leading a pack, and some not very pretty. Ryan needs to be the alpha so the internal skirmishes stop, he is resigned at making sacrifices, but until he meets Kate he doesn’t realise the extent of what he will have to miss; is it worth it? He’s honourable to a fault, he is conflicted, whereas Kate is cute, bubbly, funny, flirtatious, and very determined to make Ryan her mate, but does she ever have her work cut out for her. Ryan wants his Fated mate with all his being, but how will he live without her? There are such lovely passages when the shifters are in wolf form, and great secondary characters as well, even the bad guys. I was particularly intrigued by Christian, Elise Blanchard, and Julian VonBrandt… I thought there was a bit too much pack politics for one book, although it is fast-paced, but overall it was an enjoyable read. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.

This second book in the Fated Mate series is outstanding. The great world building in this series continues here as it did in the first book and in the Somewhere, Texas series. I absolutely loved the two main characters in this story and disliked the villain even more now than in book one. The packs have come together to discuss an unusual event and we also learn that there are serious problems within one of the visiting packs. The problem is caused by their pack leader. who treats his pack as breeding stock to further his own gains. We also have a pack that will soon have a new Alpha and because of past problems rules were put in place that keep any leader from having a mate. The story shows us tremendous strengths and weakness of the characters, especially those connected with fated mates and the internal workings of the packs. But we also have witty, snarky comebacks and amazing love. I don't do spoilers, but I will say that I love the way the authors always make sure to include characters from previous stories into the current ones; like cameo roles in a movie. I have to state here that every time I read one of these authors stories I say, "Wow, this is the best one." Guess what? They make me eat my words each time because BANG they blow me away with the new story. You will do yourself a great disservice if you have not started reading this new series, and if you've started go grab book 2 right now and I promise you will be reading it straight through the full moon.

Wow this book is action packed. Packs are coming from other states and nearby for the summit at the VonBrandt's. Not all packs though are like theirs. Ryan is a bulldogger or used to be. He is set to become Alpha of his pack until... Kate must escape her alpha aka Grandfather some how and getting a job with a new Alpha and pack would be perfect but one certain sexy wolf stands in her way or does he? The Vonbrandt's well two of them step in and it's every wolf for himself when this brawl begins. Can Kate get Ryan to see what is infront of him before it's too late? Grab your copy and find out.
