The Mavericks are rich, kind and look after their own, this includes Ariana, Gideon, Rosie, Jorge and Chi. All from a foster background these family members are as much a blood as the real Mavericks. Rosie has been in her own for a long time, she gave birth and has raised her gorgeous boy, Jorge ( no pun intended). She doesn’t have time for men, but the senses, and butterflies she gets from Gideon leaves many questions and definite wants. During Ari and Matt’s wedding she spends time with guarded brother of the bride, Gideon, but these two are about spend more time together while he babysits Matt and Ari’s 4 yr old Noah. Gideon is so glad to see his sister married, as an officer in the defence force, Gideon lost his sister through the foster sister, but when he got her back he got so much more. He carries serious mental scars from serving in the Middle East, in a matter of days his life and memories will be bought to the surface by two inquisitive boys and one very sexy woman. Jorge and Noah plan the ultimate get together for Rosie and Gideon, and it was so cute. I do love seeing a main character taking a back seat to a child… they carry a certain presence in a story that is just not like an adult. Anyway, Gideon and Rosie bounce around their sexual chemistry, but when another part of their past shows their faces the realism of their feelings is bought forward, leaving them no option but to jump in. He will save her from an aweful future, wake she saves him from himself. Opening up to her about his past, the things he saw, the death of his friends sees him open another world in the way of a painting. Everything he always wanted is there, now he has to jump in head first to claim it all.

Phenomenal story!! Words are escaping me… I freaking LOVED this story and I am having problems putting my thoughts into words. I fell for Gideon, Ari’s brother in the previous Maverick books. The silent, lovable, emotionally scarred man. Gideon lost his team in the middle east. Since that time, Gideon feels unworthy of love, unworthy to become part of the “Maverick” group. He could not see himself as a good man. My heart broke for him. When I found out he was going to get his own story…. EEK!! I was so happy. I could not wait for the book to hit my Kindle. However, I felt no one was going to be good enough for Gideon. He would need some one extra special. We met Rosie Diaz in a previous Mavericks book as well. I really liked her. Rosie along with Ari and Chi, grew up in foster care and became sisters of the heart in all but blood. Rosie was/is a kick a…butt, take no prisoners lady in my opinion. She is raising her son Jorge as a single mom because when she told her ex she was pregnant and dropped her and basically told her to get an abortion (I hated that low life). With the help of her “sisters”, Rosie finished school and has raised Jorge to be a great kid. When Rosie first met Gideon, she knew he was something special. She knew she could help him heal his injured soul. She knew could really grow to love him. When Gideon first met Rosie, WOW, she was unbelievable, special, a really great mom. But, Rosie needed someone special, a man worthy of her. NOT himself!! However, Rosie would not be deterred, she would find a way. I LOVED this story!! The way Rosie just kept knocking down the walls that Gideon kept putting up, WOW!!! Then, Rosie started getting the phone calls, Gideon went all papa bear. He would protect Rosie and Jorge with his life. I loved watching Gideon start to believe in the man he actually was. I was gifted with a copy of this wonderful book for my reading enjoyment and for my honest opinion of the book. I became a fan of Bella Andre and her books when I read my first Sullivan book. When she teamed up with Jennifer Skully for the Maverick series, I could not wait to read it. In my humble opinion this series is phenomenal and this latest book to the series, Captivating in Love, is just more icing on this particular cake. I can’t wait for this book to come out on audio, so I can buy it and add it to the rest of my collection. I love this book that much. Thank you for reading my review. I debated about whether I should give this book a four or five star rating. I am always happy to read a book by these writers, and I try to be completely objective. I felt like it was going to be a minimum of 4, but once I started reading, I was hooked. I had to go with five stars. Four would not have done it justice, at least not for me. I love Bella Andre's work. When Bella and Jennifer Skully get together, you are pretty much guaranteed a winner. I also like the way the circumference of the original Maverick circle is increasing. Gideon and Rosie's story drew me in from the very first page. The way Gideon's character was written, you could feel how closed off he was from not only the Maverick's, but the rest of the world. There were only two exceptions that got the full fledged Gideon. Rosie was sweetness and light. I don't mean that in a sarcastic or derogatory way. Rosie was very genuine and kind, wanting what was best for her son and her friends. I had to admire the way Rosie concentrated her efforts on getting Gideon to break down those walls. My admiration increased when she went head to head with a past entanglement. Gideon and Rosie's interactions with Jorge and Noah made the entire relationship even more special. There is a sweetness, a kindness, a gentleness, and a strong sense of family that makes the Maverick books very special. They all have an element of heat woven into a layer of sensuality. I just like the way this book made me feel. It was truly a captivating read that once I started it, I did not put it down until the last page. I am really looking forward to the next book in the Maverick series. I voluntarily read and reviewed the Advanced Reader Copy.
