The irresistible call of adventure brings lovely Christina Wakefield to the alluring Arabian desert. But fate imprisons her after she encounters Sheik Abu, the strikingly handsome though arrogant adventurer, whom she had known in England as Philip Caxton.

Once Christina had rejected Philip's fervent offer of marriage. But now she is to be his slave -- desperate for the freedoms denied her...yet weakened by her heart's blazing desire to willingly explore her virile captor's most sensuous cravings.

I am a huge Johanna Lindsey fan and have read several of her books without disappointment. From the beginning this one was different, yet I attempted to get through it. I really like the story line but the writing style was atrocious. It seemed very elementary and lacked the literary flare I have become accustomed to. Perhaps this was one of her early works. I didn't take the time to research the background. If you are a fan then skip this one and move on to another of her incredible novels, there are many.

I was very disappointed but I guess it was cuz I just finished the Kadin by Beatrice Small and nothing and no one compares. but this book just didn't have any fire...it was bland. makes me not want to read any other of her books.

I love this book. I understand that some readers take issue with the story line but if you realize that it was written in the early to mid 70s, when capture/captive novels were what was selling, it might make it more believable, or maybe more acceptable. I would recommend this and all of Johanna Lindsey's books, especially the Mallory's.
