About this eBook

An up-and-coming mystery writer, Michael, has a strong dislike toward women after his divorce from his former wife, which is why he refused to hire a secretary despite his busy schedule. When his old friend introduces him to Jenny, he decides to hire her on the spot. Her talent as a secretary is one reason; another reason lies in her old ring with an engraving that catches his interest. Michael visits Slinterwood, a mansion on Mirren Island, with Jenny for plotting his next novel. Little do they know the ring will bring their fates together....

got the chance to read this book for free, in exchange for my honest opinion, by Harlequin. My Review: An up and coming mystery writer, Michael, has a strong dislike for women after his bitter divorce from his former model-wife Claire. Because of this, Michael has decided to not hire a secretary even though he is very busy. Enter Jenny, a woman Michael's close friend recommends, and hires her on the spot. Partly for her talent as a personal assistant, partly due to a mystery that lies in an old ring Jenny wears. I got the chance from Harlequin to read and review (and survey on their site) two of their comics ( See my other review for The Husband Project). When I read this synopsis, I thought it would be a good read, and boy was I right! There was just enough romance and mystery to balance each other out. I never was the twist with Jenny coming, and it was just a very enjoyable read. It's great for a quickie when you want to read, but don't have a whole lot of time. Positive Elements: N/A Negative Elements: Jenny and Michael are stated to be lusting after each other, and end up making love. Claire calls Jenny a prostitute. Spiritual Elements: God is mentioned.
