L’ ispirazione che ha mosso l’autore deriva dai suoi ripetuti ascolti della suite per pianoforte a soggetto, intitolata “Quadri da un’esposizione”. Quest’opera, scritta nel 1874, è la composizione pianistica più famosa del musicista russo Modest Musorgskij. Il presente testo, con il titolo appena cambiato, scritto in forma drammaturgica, ed adattabile a sceneggiatura televisiva o cinematografica, descrive, mediante sequenze lunghe, o, più propriamente, per mezzo di un’esposizione “pseudopittorica”in dieci quadri, la progressione verso la fine di una relazione di coppia. Il ritmo, talvolta incalzante, dello sviluppo della vicenda è intervallato dalla “lentezza” e dalla “descrittività” di certe fasi e situazioni più “soft” e non prive di meditazioni.
