Lovely! I thoroughly enjoyed my experience with this novella. Short and engaging story, nice characters, and a truly loving development between Laura and Carmilla. It is more romantic than I thought it would be, which comes to my pleasing. Really recommend anyone to read it. Spoiler alert: Now, I want another version with a happy ending for these two, in which they will be happy lesbians through all of eternity.

This novella is beautiful written, with prose true to its time. Not only is the story different from that traditional Dracula or romanticized vampires we see today, per it's predating, but it is more true to the human nature that still exists post-death. As someone who enjoys both the challenge and intrigue of a older book or novel, but also the simple humor and foolishness of modern fanfiction and television writing this was a challenge and I am sad to see it so short.

...book that was brought to me by the Canadian web series based on the book by Joseph Sheridan La Fenu, with the same name. I am fascinated at how this was written over a century ago, considering the implications that are made about the relation between the young girl and Carmilla. The way its written, there is no right or wrong really on how you should feel towards the mysterious shadowy figure that resides at the end of the girl's bed at night. She is beautiful and seductive. Thats all she needs.
