Queste sono le domande che si trovano ad affrontare Jessica e Devis, due personaggi dalle vite oscure e tormentate, immersi nel gotico ambiente del rock e le cui risposte spalancheranno le porte al mondo popolato dalle creature della notte. Si frantumerà così ogni loro certezza e si prepareranno a vivere un’esperienza surreale, dove un cuore che batte non è altro che un lontano ricordo.
Ma cos’è l’abisso? E di cosa parlano questi racconti?
Secondo il vocabolario, il significato più comune della parola è ‘grande e smisurata profondità’, e come tale lo vede Paolo Spaziosi (Il primo volo), che per il secondo anno consecutivo dà prova delle sue capacità in questo concorso. Spesso, però, ‘abisso’ sottintende le profondità marine, ed è così che Federico Jahier (Verso l’abisso e oltre) e Paola Alesso (La speranza sul fondo del mare) lo interpretano.
Dà invece un significato più letterario al termine Mattia Insolia, giovane autore del racconto primo classificato (Obyque, città sopra l’Abisso), la cui fossa fisica penetra nelle viscere della terra, risvegliando entità ancestrali.
In ultimo l’abisso di Alessandra Cigalino (FATA) e Alessandro Stringa (Caduta Infinita), che ammicca al concetto di vastità e che, in entrambi i casi, si trova a valicare i confini della nostra Terra.
Una serie di racconti che, comunque, non può lasciarvi indifferente.
