Excerpt:

After mopping up the spill, Jen grabbed her laptop and sat on the couch, putting her feet up on the table. She glanced at the glasses as she opened the computer. They were the newest tech-toy being developed by her company, and their strange appearance was a by-product of their purpose. They looked like a normal set of glasses, but with two small boxes set into the frame on either side, just in front of the ear. Each of those boxes contained a myriad of microchips and circuit boards that powered the glasses, and allowed the wearer to utilize them in a virtual reality context, an odd mixture of real life and online experience. A wireless uplink enabled a user to access the Internet on a whim. Jen's company had provided her with a pair because she was responsible for coding and testing one of the many new apps that would accompany the hardware when it was released to the public.
As she opened the laptop, she saw with some frustration that, in her frantic rush to save the computer, she had disconnected from the developer database that she was using, and as a result, had probably lost the majority of the day's work. Great, she thought.

Jen logged back into the database and searched for the file she had been remotely working on. Finding the appropriate file, she clicked on it and waited for it to open. Her mind wandered as she waited, and she gazed out the window at the sun as it lowered in the afternoon sky.

She turned back to the computer, and with a shock, realized that she didn't recognize the file in front of her. For security reasons (or so they said), all of the files Jen worked with on this database were limited to identifying numbers, instead of names. She must have clicked the file next to the one she wanted, and realizing that fact, her frustration grew even further. She pursed her lips and was just about to close the file and get on with finding her own, when she instinctively read the first few lines on her screen.

'Effect of fractal light patterns on behavior programming and memory formation...'

Jen froze, her breath a sharp intake. Her hand hovering over the keyboard, she read furiously, hardly able to believe her eyes. As she scanned page after page of development research for an app she'd never seen before, an idea started to form in her mind. No, she couldn't...could she?

I wouldn't mind seeing a sequel. Didn't absolutely wow me, but it was good. If the book was longer, it would be awesome. Say, if she started using the app a lot. On her friends, etc. Just a suggestion. But I like it!

I would LOVE to have control over someone like that. God, I'd have sex with them every night. And it better be a girl like her, who knows how to have sex with a woman.
