I was really looking forward to this one after realizing that Race not only has a secret past with a certain someone that apparently all his close ones love to hate, but he also has some scars from his past, as well as a deep, caring personality. In comes April, with her strong, no-nonsense attitude that's balanced by her artistic side, along with her fun, caring ways. I loved how these two opened up to each other while having to work together, and how they had in common their fierce loyalty and big hearts. It was a fun ride watching them fight their feelings while growing closer. Of course, there's bound to be some matchmaking from the grandmas, but since I enjoy Tamie Dearen's take on this trope, it was fun getting to see April going on her blind dates, and how it'd also play on Race's realization of his feelings. 😂 If you're looking for a laugh-out-loud read, with great banter, as well as sizzling sweet chemistry, you can't go wrong with this one. Can't wait to read the next one!
