About this ebook

No good deed goes unpunished. As for Fae deeds, well, those get a bit more complicated…

I thought I came to Scotland to rescue friends who disappeared under mysterious circumstances connected to the Fae. However, a deadly attack on the highway drives me and my allies into the woods and straight into my history…

History I’ve tried to forget. I’d avoided the witch’s cottage since the fateful night my brother Rhys and I were exiled from Faerie, and I soon discover the supposed sanctuary hides its own deadly secret.

To escape the trap, I need to confront the deeds of my past, which will require me to risk my own and the others’ futures.

Can I figure out the puzzle in time to save us all, or will I have to sacrifice everything, including my gargoyle lover, to make amends for my mistakes?

Shadows of the Past is the fifth book in the Fae Files series. If you like snarky heroines, stories of good intentions gone bad, and second chances with a price, you’ll love this newest installment in this addictive and magical series.

This book continues the saga of Reine and Lawrence and once again throws a lot of challenges at our mated pair. In Reine, the author has created an incredibly strong woman for whom the hits just keep coming. It is nice to see how her love for Lawrence and her acceptance of a larger circle have changed her. Overall the book was a good continuation of the story in previous books with characters such as Selene and Krestel making an appearance and continuing their stories.

Shadows of the Past is book five in the The Fae Files series, this book was more an in between book. It's more character than plot different, it began to tie up a few loose ends from earlier in the series, but does leave a few strings left for what I guess will be tied up in the last book. The cliffhanger was very irritating, as I felt like it was just getting somewhere. However, the story of Reine and Lawrence was interesting in this story. I can't wait for the next book. Reine and her past is really the focus of this one as learn more about her past from a different angle. But of course that is not the only problem and trouble in the story. Enjoyed watching what went down this time and seeing how it all fit into the series. The characters are fun and watching what they face is always entertaining.
