Karla Hardersen is a wife and mother of three teenagers. She has studied religion and theology at the undergraduate and graduate levels and was a Bernardin Scholar at the Catholic Theological Union, Chicago. She is an active member of a Catholic faith community, where she has also been an assistant catechist for the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd program.
