This well-written novel captured me and drew me in from the opening pages, making it difficult for me to put it down. The plot took me on a roller-coaster of emotions as Lily and Julian walked the rocky path between family expectations and the censure of society. Certainly, Julian had more than his fair share of dysfunctional, spiteful family members and it really is a wonder that he and Lily actually managed to get to the altar.
